THE QUIRT IS A RIDING WHIP OR cuarta WITH A SHORT HANDLE AND A LASH OF LATIGO.
Traditionally hand-braided in Mexico of long-wearing latigo leather, these "horse accelerators" mean business! Leather is braided over a hard handle core. The braided part is 14" the overall length including end of hand strap to the tail end is about 32 inches.
Quirts have a number of uses including but not limited to Barrel Racing, Trail Rides, Working Ranch Horses, Training and keeping the old man in line. Although they encourage your horse or to move ahead, they are not made to harm the animal. The wide latigo end straps will get their attention but generally will not mark or harm them. If you are looking for something to inflict pain, you shouldn't have a horse in the first place.
These sturdy quirts come in black, Brown and mixed shades of both. There are to many varieties; so please, don't ask for a specific color.
